Le Due Volpi

Five Days in Tuscany for two.

Spend five nights at Le Due Volpi, an old
farmhouse, now converted to a Bed & Breakfast, in
the rolling hills of the Mugello countryside, about
35 km from Florence.

The location means that you can simply enjoy
peace and relaxation if you wish, but can also visit
the nearby historic cultural centers of Pisa, Sienna,
Lucca, Florence, Scarperia, Borgo San Lorenzo
and Vicchio. Walk along the neighboring hills on
the tracks marked out by the Italian Alpine Club.
Or you might go riding at stables only a few
kilometers away. Golfers will enjoy playing on a
nearby course reputed to be one of the best in
Europe.

Owners Lorenzo and Heidi Balloni will arrange
two special dinners for you, complete with wines
from their cantina near Fiesole and simple Tuscan
food. If you wish, they will involve you
in making pasta with them and some of their
neighbors one evening.

If you choose to visit Florence or Fiesole, an old
Etruscan town with views over city of Florence, Heidi
can arrange a visit to La Villa Le Balze gardens
(where she worked previously, now owned by
Georgetown University), and neighboring Villa Medici,
now privately owned, with lunch in local bistro.
